SHARE PROJECT

In 2017 Play Arquitectura won the tender to draft the extension of the Las Lagunas sports city in the municipality of Mijas in Malaga.

The project consists of the construction of two buildings and new entrances to the sports city. The first building consisting of a semi-basement floor and three floors is intended for multiple sports uses and the second building consisting of a basement, ground floor and first floor is intended for a therapeutic pool.

This action, which has a total built area of 3,853 m2 and another 450 m2 of urbanization, has been designed to comply with the Passivhaus standard and incorporates many strategies of the BREEAM certification, including the management of the water cycle and sustainable mobility .

From the volumetric point of view, it is proposed to treat the access spaces and playground as a volume through a Flex-Brick canvas in such a way that a sequence of 3 volumes is generated that dialogue with the volume of the Theater and establish an overall composition with the elevations of educational buildings.

The proposal of an access volume allows, in turn, to generate access on an appropriate scale for all the sports facilities it serves and for the city as a whole.

From the point of view of the composition of the façade and materials, a neutral composition of the facades of the Camino de Albero is proposed by means of large openings that attend to the scale of the equipment with respect to the city.

The project achieved the pre-Audit Passivhaus in 2019 and the works began on May 15, 2019.
