The proposal for the new Social Security offices in Fuengirola consists of a building with two basement floors, a ground floor and two upper floors with an area of 1,970 m2.

Due to the small size of the plot and its trapezoidal shape, it has been proposed to round the corners of the building, to improve the fluidity of the free spaces and improve the vehicular circulation of access to the parking lots on the basement floors. By rounding the corners, the building adopts a more friendly and dynamic character, which in turn recalls the shapes polished by the sea that we can find on the coast.
To give a neutral treatment to the volume and to unify the composition of the openings by providing them with a solar protection system, the exterior of the building has been covered with a Flex-Brick type mesh, giving an Andalusian lattice appearance as an element of sun protection and protection of traditional intimacy.
From the point of view of the composition of the façade, the sizes of the opening have been adapted to the needs of the program, opening large openings in the west and south facades where the common spaces and open-plan offices are located, smaller in the east orientation of individual and minimal offices in the north orientation where the utility rooms are located.

The new building is designed to meet the Passivhaus Plus standard, generating more energy than it consumes, and in turn complying with the BREEAM certificate.
